We are seeking a Technical Communicator/Content Developer to work at our Drives & Motion division in our Waukegan, IL or Oak Creek, WI location.
You will be part of a dedicated team of professionals that develops, refines and delivers instructional content for Yaskawa’s award winning variable frequency drives and industrial controls.
Your valuable skills as a technical communicator will deliver the right information, to the right people, at the right time and place, via web, mobile and online video.
You will develop user-focused product information that results from a good understanding of both the product and audience. You will manage various projects from inception through release.
You will use Adobe software tools along with our global component content management system (CCMS) to develop and publish content. You may also explore and develop the use of video to publish short, useful “how-to” instructions online.
Your product knowledge will grow as you attend our 6000 square foot training facility where our ideology is “learn by doing”. As a bonus, your training may qualify you for continuing education credits (CEU’s). Yaskawa offers IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.
Keep your professional knowledge sharp as our team attends annual summits sponsored by the Society for Technical Communication (STC).

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in technical writing/English language or related field or equivalent work experience. Four plus years of technical communications experience in the automation industry is beneficial.
Your experience using structured authoring tools, database publishing, XML, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, or Adobe Illustrator will help you get a fast start building success in this position.
