The AAG Corporate Policy and Procedure team is looking for a policy and procedure writer who can hit the ground running, while managing several writing projects at once. In this role you will work with subject matter experts across AAG to compose, maintain and clarify corporate policies and procedures. A solid understanding of government regulatory agencies and financial/mortgage industry regulations is essential for success in this role. You should be comfortable asking the right questions to get process details and incorporate them into useful procedures, and be comfortable working with auditors and state examiners. Your communication skills will be invaluable as you introduce company policies and procedures to the enterprise.
Work closely with Corporate Subject Matter Experts and project teams to develop policies, procedures, checklists, training material and communications on enterprise projects
Analyze and edit current policies and procedures for areas of improvement or gaps
Communicate corporate policy and procedure changes to the enterprise
Ensure annual recertification is completed for internal policies, procedures, checklists and training material
Ensure policies and procedures are published to the Company’s policy portal within established timeframes
Review documents for style, clarity, grammar, and punctuation
Maintain Company policy, standard, and procedure templates
Assist in the application of any regulatory changes within the industry that impact the business units and existing policies
Support policy and procedure-related requests stemming from Internal Audit findings, state examinations, and Corrective Action Plans.
BA/BS in Communications, English, Journalism or related field, or certificate in technical writing
5 years’ experience writing policies and procedures, mortgage/financial industry preferred
Familiarity with mortgage/financial industry regulations (e.g., Truth in Lending. RESPA, ECOA, AML/BSA, etc.)
Expertise in MS Office suite of products, SharePoint, content management systems, screen capture tools such as Snag-it
Thorough understanding of Information Mapping methodology
Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
Experience with MadCap Flare
Reverse mortgage experience a definite plus, but not required
Process improvement, lean six sigma experience a plus
