Human Interfaces is looking for a full-time intern trained in HF/HCI/Usability. We are located in the hills of Austin Texas and operate two world-class research labs. Our team is small but talented, creative and collaborative. We are looking for a team player to help us define and design products for our clients that not only satisfy, but delight the end-user.
Consulting requires a special breed. We are looking for someone confident, who carries themselves as an “expert” and is not afraid to participate and learn. Strong work ethic and initiative are not optional, they are required. Our pace is fast and we support a wide variety of product studies requiring a vast array of research methodologies. If you are looking for great experience then you will get it with us. Ideally you are wrapping up your Masters or Doctorate degree. Our desire is to transition this role into a full time consulting position.
Responsibilities include support of our team in the design and evaluation of hardware, software and web interfaces. The individual will work closely with staff to develop solutions for improved usability and user satisfaction through research, user-centered design and testing. Skills for the job include the use of a variety of research methods including conducting usability tests, user interviews as well as analyzing, interpreting and applying research findings into usable design solutions and documentation of such. Since we often deal with new technologies in our work, it would be helpful to have someone that is passionate about computers, servers, tablets, smart phones, wireless technologies, touch interfaces, software, etc. Yes, we are nerdy and proud of it.
