Create, update, proofread and manage the documentation suite for our Q-SYS platform and other QSC products as required.
Develop and maintain topic based and context sensitive Help Files for software applications.
Produce white papers, application notes and other customer support publications.
Utilize engineering and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, GIT to understand issues and develop documentation output.
Import and/or create graphics, photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding of published material.
Collaborate closely with R&D engineers, developers, product managers, application engineers, and technical support team when researching, preparing and producing technical documentation and help files.
Collaborate on user interface design.
Assist with the Software Quality Assurance effort.
Identify and resolve issues affecting customer perception of products.
Produce polished, professional quality documentation conforming to our desired style.
Help guide our choices of distribution formats and authoring tools.
Gather usability feedback from customers and stakeholders. Monitor daily customer requests impact on documentation, and plan the updates to provide the changes based on software enhancements.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years software technical writing experience required.
Experience using software help file authoring tools - MadCap Flare preferred.
Experience working and creating documentation in a scrum software development environment.
Computer network knowledge required to successfully document complex system configuration.
Experience documenting programming languages/API’s - Lua Scripting a plus.
Working knowledge of Adobe Professional Suite, PageMaker, Acrobat and Microsoft Office software packages.
Strong graphics generation and editing skills using graphics suites such as CorelDraw.
Experience in the fields of Professional AV, IT, and software desired; must be able to describe said fields’ systems, controls, interconnections, signal processing, physical deployment and possible problems that may be encountered.
Must have well-developed written and oral communication skills; impeccable English language spelling and grammar.
Demonstrated the ability to explain complex technical topics with understandable text, supported with writing samples.
Ability to produce results in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional product development team.
Must be self-motivated in order to achieve assigned objectives with minimal supervision.
