We are seeking a candidate for a Technical Writer position in the Technology Services department. This will be a temporary position with a term of six months starting the end of February or early March. This position will be primarily responsible for documenting operational Standard Operating Procedures and a variety of pre-production documentation. This position will interview Managers and Technical Individual Performers to define and document their Standard Operating Procedures.
The candidate must possess the following qualifications: • 3 - 5 years of IT experience with 2 years in an predominately Microsoft based environment • 3 + years as a Technical Writer, gathering requirements and producing quality technical documentation • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience related to information technology management. • Understanding of standard ITIL processes, ITIL Foundation certification is not required, but beneficial • Knowledge of Microsoft Server administrative procedures • Experience with hardware and software configuration standards • Proficient with MS Office, Visio, and other document and publication management software • Ability to learn other applications as needed to perform job functions • Ability to create templates and standardize documents • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to write policy, process and procedural documentation • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with others • Ability to work in a team environment • Excellent time management and organizational skills
