Update and expand the HampsonRussell Help system and help maintain other CGG help systems as required.
Recognize buggy or faulty graphic user interfaces and labels and notify the developers.
Edit error messages, training material and Knowledgebase submissions as requested.
Eventually, the successful candidate would be expected to fully take over the responsibilities of the position, developing new documents and courses.
Develop and maintain online Help system for software products.
Help other employees by editing relevant work.
Optimize GUI design for usability and ease of learning.
Develop and maintain other relevant documentation about the software products as required.
Report on progress as required by the product manager.
Develop and maintain expertise with relevant tools and develop expertise on new tools.
Learn significantly more about the geoscience theory and concepts behind the products.
Bachelor's University degree in English, Journalism or Communication, especially a degree in Technical Communication. We may consider degrees in Seismic Geophysics or Sedimentary Geology if considerable training and skill in writing instructions can be proven.
Five Years of experience in technical communication.
Completed courses in technical communication, either from University or through the Society of Technical Communication, will be an asset. Experience in using geoscience-based software will be an asset. Membership in the Society of Technical Communication will also be an asset.
Experience in using MadCap Flare will be a significant asset.
