The Health Sciences Academic Services and Facilities (HSAS&F) department within the Health Sciences Administration (HSA) supports the University of Washington (UW) mission by providing operational support and services to the Health Sciences Schools and broader UW community. HSAS&F is comprised of six service units, with responsibilities that include instructional support to the Health Sciences Schools, building management, scientific instrument service and repair, and scientific visual design and production. HSAS&F units support the UW mission for world-class education, research, and service.
Health Sciences IT Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Computer Specialist to provide senior level end-user and server support for Windows and OS X operating systems, data management and integration, and IT security adherence for HSAS&F and for a variety of departments within the Health Sciences Complex.
Duties and Responsibilities:
With minimal supervision, the person in this role will work closely with other Health Sciences IT Services staff to maintain coverage and divide workload in system administration duties, database and application support, and end-user support, while supporting and demonstrating the values of HSAS&F and participating in department-wide initiatives and programs.
Monitoring the performance of the server environment & taking appropriate action. Design, implement and test data recovery systems. Design and implement IT infrastructure for clients. Design and implement physical and virtual servers. Assist with risk management, security compliance and business continuity planning.
Application Integration & Support:
Create, customize and maintain SharePoint servers and websites. Design, implement, modify and maintain databases and related reports using MS SQL, SSRS, and SharePoint. Utilize API's to integrate operations between different systems.
Support mission critical applications, such as TMA (a computerized maintenance management system) and MediaSite (course capturing software & hardware system)
Assist the Computer Support Technician to provide end-user support for desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. This includes new deployments, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, data backup and recovery, risk assessments, and performance monitoring.

| Bachelor's or equivalent |
Proficiently read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.

Provides Excellent Customer Service
Demonstrates commitment to participating in building a positive work environment
Windows server administration
Experience with cloud services such as Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud
Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation for a wide audience
General knowledge of the IT industry and trends
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
