The Bing Overseas Studies Program (BOSP), within the office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) is seeking an IT Technology Manager responsible for day-to-day first line management of technology / technical support for programs in nine overseas locations. The IT Technology Manager serves as the expert on all IT matters for BOSP and is responsible for the management of all information systems within BOSP including the website, application system, course database, hardware support, and all system tools needed to support our various teaching needs. This position’s diverse responsibilities require a broad understanding of complex technologies and multi-national cultures to support our nine overseas locations and home office.
This position will have 2 primary areas of responsibility:
Administration and Management of technical hardware infrastructure
Administration and Development of Systems Resources
The Bing Overseas Studies Program operates international undergraduate programs around the world as well as a campus based office. This position provides key technical support for these centers and must combine both strong technical IT skills with the ability to work across cultural and country boundaries in support of our programs.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Understanding of relevant technical knowledge and problem resolution throughout IT including application support, website programming, and hardware support.
Strong customer relationship and consensus building skills.
Ability to establish effective working relationships especially across international and cultural boundaries.
Ability to motivate and mentor others.
Demonstrated project management skills with ability to multi-task.
Ability to obtain and maintain current U.S. passport and obtain international visas as required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally requiring ability to lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds
