Job Description Summary:
The Multimedia Developer works closely with the George Washington University School of Nursing faculty and community to develop eLearning web-based and multimedia materials to promote engaging and interactive learning interactions and simulations. Activities include:Develop multimedia materials using a variety of graphic, audio, video and animation tools and eLearning authoring programs SCORM compliant, or similar programs.
Provides technical, creative ideas, and visual design support to GWSON community for creating highly engaging, visually striking and interactive multimedia assets.
Actively reach out and work directly with faculty in a variety of professional learning settings including individual consultation, informal settings, and formal workshops to provide training on multimedia design concepts.
Assist in operation of Media Center video editing equipment
Determines/edits special effects, composition and overall design of video productions.
Plan, design and development of graphics, audio, video and animation for face-to-face, blended, and online modalities
Assist faculty in integrating multimedia into their pedagogy for creating course learning objects. Reports to the Director of Online Learning and Instructional Technology within the GWSON
Performs other duties as assignedThis position is located in Ashburn, VA.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, New Media or a related area, AND, GRAPHICS (Proficiency):2 years experience in 2D imaging software and 2D animation software (Animate/Flash) and creating web graphics. VIDEO:(Proficiency):2 years experience in video/audio production. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in graphic design, video production, multimedia storyboarding, scripting, planning, design and development, educational media/multimedia development, web design.
Coursework and/or experience in digital video production including non-linear editing, graphic design, audio mixing, video compression, animation, and online distribution.
Ability to work collaboratively with project team members in the development and deployment of multimedia elements that support online course delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
