An exciting opportunity exists for a seasoned employee communications professional in Technology Communications at American Express. The Manager, Technology Projects Communications position is based in New York and will focus on executing and delivering American Express Technology (AET) communication strategies and campaigns designed to drive AET strategic change initiatives in support of the American Express business.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in developing clear, compelling communications about technical tools, products and/or services for both technical and non-technical employee audiences.
This role is part of and supports the American Express Technology (AET) organization, which comprises more than 5,000 employees worldwide who provide technology solutions and support to address the evolving needs of customers, employees and partners. The Manager, Technology Projects Communications will work with members of the Technology Communications team toplan and execute communication strategies and campaigns in support of major change efforts related to the introduction of new and updated technology tools and processes. This role also will help drive employee engagement in Technology strategic initiatives and adoption of key practices and platforms.
Provide employee communications support for strategic initiatives and projects led by AET.
Develop impactful communication programs and campaigns for change initiatives, designed to inform and engage employees within AET and across the enterprise.
Create effective communications that clearly articulate complex changes, impacts to employees and next steps.
Build and foster strong partnerships with AET project teams and other key stakeholders.
Draft communications from senior leadership for distribution across AET and/or company-wide.
Proven experience in developing clear, compelling communications about complex technical tools, products and services for a variety of audiences
Ability to develop communication strategies and tactics that engage employees about changes
Strong versatile writer, experienced with a variety of formats, including web content, video scripts, feature articles, launch announcements, etc.
Strong consulting and relationship-building skills
Highly organized and detail oriented
Skilled at managing projects within short timeframes, with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Creative thinker with ability to appropriately leverage existing communication channels/vehicles and develop new ones, as needed
Self-starter with excellent project-management skills and the ability to develop communications strategies from ideation to completion
