Calyx Technology is a leading provider of business and mortgage automation software for a variety of related industry verticals, headquartered in the Silicon Valley. Calyx is a well-established company with a proven track record of more than 26 successful years in business with three US and one Pacific Rim location. We are currently seeking a professional, experienced technical writer to join our team to produce high-quality product suite documentation and contribute to overall product success.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating technical documents, user guides, administration manuals, API specifications and online Help content. Reporting directly to the Project Management (PMO Director) the position will work with product management, engineering, SMEs and other company staff to ensure the high quality and accuracy of documentation and product descriptions.
Expectation for this Position
Collaborate with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of our products and documentation requirements.
Plan, develop, organize, write, obtain feedback and edit all required documentation.
Produce electronic and hard copy versions of documentation.
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style and consistency across the documentation suite.
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature in keeping up with product enhancements and industry updates.
May assist in creating tutorials/webinars to help customers with effective, efficient software usage.
Assume additional responsibilities, as required.
Proficient in delivery of high quality documentation with strict attention to detail.
Ability to communicate complex or technical information simply and effectively.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to write with the end-customer perspective in mind to facilitate successful product usage.
Proven experience working in a technical writing position.
Basic familiarity with the SDLC, software development and hands-on web design experience.
Self-starter who can focus in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task successfully.
Ability to work well individually or in a group.
Familiarity with residential mortgage industry and terminology a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, or Information Technology required.
