Reporting to the Manager, Learning Programs & Technology, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing an innovative framework that supports the design and development of learning solutions for a wide variety of audiences. This includes building a high level of contemporary instructional design acumen within the Corporate Learning team. In this role, you’ll ensure a modern learning experience for all employees by maximizing the use of the latest advances in eLearning, instructor-led programs, virtual classroom, blended learning, micro learning, video, gamification, learning transfer and more.
What you’ll get to do:
Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods including ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick and other recognized models/methods to design, develop, deploy and continuously improve course content and transfer of learning.
Edit instructional materials for content accuracy, training efficacy, and adherence to instructional design methods and standards. Ensure quality and timely delivery of training programs. Create content that is compliant with SCORM and/or other standards.
Design, develop and continuously improve training programs, learning solutions, job aids, and performance tools to ensure timely and appropriate support to business operations. Participate in the measurement of programs and processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Manage approved project plans and resources for Coast Capital Savings’ learning and performance interventions. Coach and guide project team members on all aspects of organizational learning and performance solutions design.
Manage and complete multiple training development projects. Act as a mentor to Corporate Learning peers to build capability and capacity.
Design effective instructional materials, programs, courses, simulations, assessments and instructional strategies to produce training products that align with business needs.
Collaborate with members of the team and stakeholder business units and act as the project manager and owner responsible for training programs created. Display proficiency at project management such as creating achievable timelines for deliverables, communicating and reporting project status, managing resources, and tracking against a project roadmap. Embrace and employ iterative development methodologies.
Oversee external service providers as needed to ensure that externally provided programs or learning products adhere to modern adult learning principles and Coast standards.
Who are we looking for?
Minimum 7 – 9 Years of Job Related Experience. The majority of this experience must be directly related to instructional design experience. The ability to leverage knowledge and experience related to the financial service industry is preferred.
Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
Master’s or advanced degree in Instructional Design preferred or Training, Educational Technology or extensive, equivalent professional experience in lieu of.
Strong background and experience in adult learning and instructional design.
Significant experience using e-learning technologies, learning and knowledge management systems, networks, communities of practices.
Deep experience in independently developing complex learning solutions/deliverables based on knowledge of learning methodologies, cognitive science, user-centered design research, adult learning requirements, needs assessment and evaluation.
Highly proficient with a variety of eLearning development tools including Storyline 360.
Experience developing eLearning with gamification components.
Demonstrated successful project management and experience and effective organizational skills.
Strong business acumen.
Excellent communication, business partnership and influencing skills.
Good understanding of HR Practices, including organizational development.
Excellent project management skills. Strong ability to think analytically, proactively and strategically.
Able to quickly and deeply understand business needs and organizational constraints & requirements to determine, design, develop and deploy the most effective learning solutions.
Action and production oriented with a strong eye for modern visual design.
