Working independently Business analysts are responsible for reviewing, modifying and recommending business requirements applied to company databases and system applications. This role works closely with the technical team to test the solution, record and track technical issues and implement any needed changes. To gather data on what business requirements should be included during the design stage, business analysts must thoroughly understand their companies' businesses, and the issues and challenges facing the industry and organization. In addition, this role must pinpoint how the cooperative can leverage its strengths and improve its weaknesses through various business processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides leadership to business analysis teams through effective communication, team building and mentoring
Gather functional and technical requirements related to new solutions and conduct interviews to capture information regarding to-be processes.
Analyze new business opportunities and provide recommendations for solutions or enhancements to move the business forward.
Convert customer needs into technical requirements and work with developers to ensure those requirements are translated correctly into enhanced tools and services
Leads the business in evaluation and selection of new tools and services by assessing the business needs and providing process and best practice solutions
Construct process flow diagrams to illustrate visual representation of activities and relationships.
Create and maintain documentation of business decisions and solutions implementation in accordance with standards and templates provided by the Technical Writer.
Identifies and resolves critical issues

Reports on status of project accurately and timely including key issues, delays in timelines, and timely escalation to key stakeholders and sponsors
Define new business opportunities to take advantage of existing technology in a manner consistent with enterprise objectives and the enterprise software architecture
Oversee implementation activities, to include data migration, user training, change management, and testing activities of solutions
Handles confidential information with discretion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems
5 years related work experience
Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA®) Certification required
Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business process and operations.
Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
Experience participating in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required.
Working knowledge with the organization’s core software applications, including Infor Adage, Shipper Plus, Red Prairie, Sage SalesLogix, and DSI.
Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
