Serves as UI Web Designer. Provides consulting to support the marketing and branding of Clemson University through the use of the web content management system. Keeps up-to-date and accurate client-based and administrative Clemson web sites that fall under the scope of University Relations strategic plan and the University's goals. Designs and develops static and dynamic web pages. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:
20% - Essential - Planning and Layout: Consults with clients for site map generation, wireframes and project support. Works with Creative Services staff and clients to provide the conceptualization and design of web/interactive interface elements using approved templates. Utilizes industry standard web development tools (Adobe suite of products and the university's web content management system). Utilizes established standards for web design and information architecture to create a user friendly site. Ensures page layout and graphic design meet branding standards and strategic goals.
20% - Essential - Design: Develops and implements visual designs based on the brand of the University and of University Relations. Implements best practices for images and other material presented for the web. Ensures that material on the web site meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 standards. Creates, resizes and optimizes web graphics using industry software.
10% - Essential - Partner Support / Trends and Innovation / Professional Dev: Reviews and incorporates industry trends to improve content and quality of services. Ensures implementation of and participates in technical training to content authors, editors and moderators. Engages in development opportunities leading to personal development, professional growth and innovation in web development and related technologies. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. RESPONSIBILITIES:
