Summary: This career path is responsible for creating, developing, planning, writing and editing operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for multimedia or web-based publications, from planning stage through delivery.
General Job Duties:
Performs analysis to determine use assistance requirements
Designs, creates, updates, and maintains some of all of the following user assistance deliverables: online Help, training materials, user’s guides; release notes; installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and quick reference guides, demonstration videos
Works independently or as part of a team
Requires consistent use of independent judgment to proactively problem-solve issues
Strong understanding of technical writing processes to produce a consistent level of accuracy and timeliness of work
Responsible for meeting one or more team quality metrics and for reviewing the quality of work of others
Contributes to the maintenance of our style guide, and regularly reviews documentation for grammar, consistency, technical accuracy, and good organization
Contributes to the design and update of documentation templates
Helps to determine document guidelines
Performs other duties as required
Possess a relevant Bachelors Technical Communications, English, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience and / or professional certification
4+ years experience in profession
Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of databases, client-server and cloud-based applications.
Strong interpersonal skills – must be able to work effectively as part of a project/program team and foster team cooperation.
Demonstrated project management experience
Must have understanding of Technical Documentation processes and procedures.
Must have extensive experience interviewing Subject Matter Experts and converting that information into clear and concise user documentation.
Must be able to learn new software and technologies quickly.
Must have experience in a software development environment.
Experience with RoboHelp, Framemaker, Word, Captivate, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Knowledge of HTML/XML/DITA/Structured Authoring is an asset.
Knowledge of Component Content Management Systems is an asset.
Ability to comprehend current developments in their area of expertise

Comfortable in working in a fast pace support environment
