FOUR-MONTH PART-TIME POSITION (August through November)
The Drill Designer is responsible for designing the marching programs performed by the Boston College Marching Band during halftime of seven home football games. The Drill Designer works closely with the Marching Band Director to design programs that are appropriate to the size, instrumentation, and skill level that are typical of the Boston College Marching Band.

Reports to the Marching Band Director
Scope: Marching Band only
Four month position: August through November
Duties and Responsibilities
Design field programs so as to effectively complement and enhance the visual and musical program
Evaluate members' abilities and design routines accordingly
Work closely with the Marching Band Director and the other staff members to develop visual program
Drill routines must be completed prior to the start of the August camp
Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the Director of Bands, Marching Band Director, Band staff, Band members, and University Administration
Participate in spring semester program planning as needed
Recommend new property purchases within the budget allocations
*Extensive successful experience as a visual designer and instructor for marching band or drum corps. *Must be available to participate in Band Camp each August.
