Content Developer, Information Developer, Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer for Shape Security, you will work closely with some of the smartest engineers in web security to design and develop product documents that our users will love.
You should bring to this position user-centered thinking and strong experience in technical writing. You must be intensely curious about learning the details of our technology. In this role, you will work with the product, develop your own expertise in using it, and write clear explanations that show information security engineers, web application developers, and network administrators how to design, configure, deploy, and manage Shape’s products in large scale web infrastructure environments.
Write, publish, and maintain technical product documentation such as user guides, product references, release notes, and technical white papers for internal and external audiences
Collaborate with product managers and service engineers to identify user needs and use cases
Build strong relationships with software engineers and content experts to create correct and complete user documentation
Required Skills and Experience:
Writing and editing experience in a technical environment. (Must provide writing samples.)
Ability to understand complex technical topics and explain them simply and effectively
Problem solving skills
User-centered thinking for content design and architecture
Multi-tasking and handling changes in requirements or schedule
Understanding of how computer systems and the internet works
Experience with XML, single sourcing, minimalist writing, and content chunking
Desired Skills and Experience:
5+ years of technical writing or instructional design experience in a technology company
Experience with MadCap Flare
Understanding of technologies in one of the following domains: Networking, Security, Web applications, Mobile applications
