RICE is Morgan Stanley's software development and productivity platform for Fixed Income risk, valuation and analytics is used by a large number of IT developers, desk strategists and quants. Our team is responsible for the core APIs, data models and adoption of the platform and we are looking for an excellent technical writer who can create training materials with illustrations to train users on platform's vision, data model/abstractions and API points.
Write and maintain documentation for the software development platform for a large internal user base; materials will include online help, illustrations with examples, quick reference guides as well as description of platform's core software APIs with example usage.
The candidate is expected to go through training, read existing supporting materials and interact with internal teams to get an in-depth understanding of the platform vision, data models, finance (as it relates to the platform), APIs and what users are looking to accomplish.
Create specialized learning paths for IT and quants; gather documentation/training feeback from users and improve/expand documentation materials. Share feedback with internal teams to improve APIs or other aspects of the platform.
Compose and publish a platform newsletter informing users of platform changes, new APIs and new capabilities.
Excellent technical writing skills (English)
Excellent communication skills
BS or MS Degree in Computer Science is preferred
Excellent skills in reading and writing example code as part of documentation
Proficient in editing and illustrating in Twiki, HTML
Proficient in illustrations to explain concepts
Ability to interact well and efficiently with global internal teams
