The Director, Certification Programs, is responsible for leading the development of new certification programs and the ongoing management of existing programs for CTIA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
Oversee CTIA Certification Program Working Groups (CPWG), which are composed of CTIA member company representatives who develop and maintain the requirements for CTIA’s certification programs
Ensure all working groups are fully staffed with leaders (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary) and have wide participation from CTIA member companies
Lead and manage the activities of the working groups, ensuring they are productive, efficient and effective
Create new working groups, as necessary, to develop new certification programs, best practices and test plans
Manage the CTIA CPWG website including registration and documentation
Work with Certification Program Coordinator to define and execute meeting logistics including online and face-to-face meetings
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with CTIA member companies and their CPWG representatives
Maintain close, ongoing rapport with CPWG leaders
Work with member companies to encourage adequate and effective participation in working groups
Oversee development of certification requirements documents including certification test plans, certification process documents and industry best practices
Develop and maintain the certification process documents with input from CPWG representatives
Manage the development of certification test plans and best practices
•Work with member-provided subject matter experts (SMEs) to define and create the content
Manage technical writer(s) to assist with document creation
Manage review and approval of all documents by the CPWG
Work with CTIA Communications team to publish documents on CTIA website
Develop, launch, and manage new certification programs
Coordinate all activities to successfully launch programs
Manage budgets and revenue streams for programs
Monitor programs with appropriate metrics and track activity to ensure success
Coordinate activities with other industry associations (e.g., GSMA, Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance, ZigBee Alliance, CBRS Alliance), certification bodies (e.g., Global Certification Forum) and standards development organizations (e.g., 3GPP, IEEE)
Develop appropriate contacts and maintain strong working rapport
Develop and manage cooperation agreements as necessary
Liaise with complementary organizations to collaborate and harmonize activities
Coordinate with CTIA staff members throughout the association as necessary to ensure successful development and maintenance of certification programs including Industry Programs, Membership, Legal, Communications and Accounting among others

COMPUTER SKILLS: Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Four-year college degree; advanced degree a plus
Extensive project management experience, preferably in the wireless telecommunications field
Experience succesfully developing, launching and managing programs
Extensive experience creating well-written program documentation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills are required.
