The Manager of Population Health Financial Analytics for Baylor Scott and White Health Quality Alliance (BSWHQA) oversees and manages the Analytics Team while providing the delivery of accurate data and business intelligence to stakeholders to ensure informed, sound decisions regarding population health and value based operations with a focus on cost and utilization metrics, analyses, and patient outcomes. The Manager of Population Health Financial Analytics partners with various internal organizations (e.g., nurse leaders, allied health professionals, information technology, patient experience, and finance, etc.) to deliver integrated information in support of population health and value-based care strategies and goals. In addition, the Manager of Population Health Financial Analytics for BSWHQA will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Leading a team of analytics developers in defining, analyzing and delivering actionable intelligence to clinical and/or operational customers, providing guidance in analyzing, structuring and interpreting large volumes of data into effective visual stories for business owners.
Leading multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project lifecycle development (inception through delivery), translation of business needs into data analytics/data requirements and delivery of innovative reporting and analytic solutions.
Partnering with appropriate teams to identify and implement best practices for data tools, methodologies, processes, and technologies.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining processes to report accurate and reliable data.
Overseeing the design, testing, validation, and deployment of data projects; ensuring development schedules are created and tracked to deliver projects in agreed upon timeframe.
Managing appropriate staffing levels to include recruitment, selection, and utilization.
Developing team members through goal setting, ongoing performance feedback, training and development plans, as well as career path discussions and identification of project assignments.
Providing both technical and business guidance and teaching in a consistent manner to enhance team capabilities, their understanding of use cases for the data, and ensuring customer service expectations are met
Creating and recommending reporting enhancements (KPI reporting, proactive alerting, predictive analysis, and prescriptive action, etc.).
Collaborating with other Data/Analytic Teams within the organization to ensure the accuracy and validity of the data.
Developing systematic processes to gather measurable feedback regarding design and usability of output.
The ideal Manager of Analytics Development will hold a Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in business, healthcare, or related field combined with a minimum of 6 years of related, applicable experience. The ideal Manager of Analytics Development will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to review data and discover patterns, relationships and/or anomalies to investigate. The ideal Manager of Analytics Development will have an in-depth understanding and hands on experience with analyzing, structuring, and interpreting a large volume of raw data into effective visual stories for business owners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and ability to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse group of professionals in a matrixed organization in support of hospital, clinical, and operational goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills, knowledge, and abilities; including but not limited to:
Ability to lead and develop a team of Data Analytics Professionals in the design, analysis and delivery of actionable intelligence
Commands and leverages knowledge of value-based care operations and contracting to drive meaningful analysis, insights, and action
Ability to manage resources, processes, and tools to effectively translate business needs into innovative reporting and data analytical solutions
Ability to identify and implement best practices to enhance service offerings and customer satisfaction
Knowledgeable of accreditation requirements, regulatory needs, and laws impacting the organization's data needs
In-depth knowledge and experience with SQL-advanced to expert proficiency
Strong visual design skills for reporting data to various leaders and stakeholders
Experienced and knowledgeable with statistical tools
Microsoft Office expert
Demonstrated attention to detail
Understanding of the quality improvement cycle and the ability to identify key performance indicators
Master's degree in business, health care, or a related field preferred
Healthcare experience strongly preferred
