Based in our Sarasota office, the Senior Technical Writer is responsible for writing and maintaining documentation that includes a Confluence knowledge base, videos, release notes, and how-to articles for internal and external customers. The Senior Technical Writer gathers, develops, and disseminates technical information among customers, engineers, and support professionals. The Senior Technical Writer synthesizes content for a wide spectrum of users with technical skills that range from novice to expert level.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Write and maintain content for knowledge base articles. Collaborate with QA Engineers, Product Managers, and Support professionals to optimize the knowledge base for internal and external customers.
Research and synthesize product information into documentation content by attending standups and interviewing QA Engineers, Product Owners, and SMEs.
Leverage developer and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Salesforce, and TestRail to understand issues and develop documentation.
Capture end-user and administrative tasks performed in ClientSpace and Pulse, and their expected results.
Working with Jira epics, user stories, and developer notes, update legacy documentation with new features and enhancements.
Manage documentation drafts and the flow of information among teams during development and testing.
Collaborate with team members and act as a thought leader or SME for ClientSpace and Pulse applications.
Participate in Agile development processes and influence product enhancements based on customer needs.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
During one-month sprints, manage ClientSpace and Pulse documentation deliverables with varying priorities and deadlines.
Use revision and source control effectively in a team setting.
Pursue job/career-related experiences and learning outside of the scope of assigned duties.
Act as an ambassador of collaboration within and across the organization, sharing knowledge in areas of expertise.
Develop skills and serve as a team resource for ClientSpace and Pulse.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
BS/BA in related field such as Computer Science, Communications, English, or Technical Writing.
Minimum 6-8 years of experience as a Technical Writer for complex software systems, preferably in PEO, SaaS, or web-based environment.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn, analyze, understand, and communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Technically curious and motivated to understand ClientSpace, Pulse, and PrismHR functionality.
Ability to prioritize while taking direction from the Team Lead and management.
Proactive at removing impediments with a “get the job done” attitude.
Flexible and able to work well under pressure and adapt to shifting deadlines.
Experience with a PEO system such as ClientSpace is strongly desired.
Experience with Atlassian Confluence and API is preferred.
Proficiency with Madcap® Flare® or other online help authoring tool is helpful.
