ITRSpecialist III—Visual Design Specialist, Office of Information Technology,Instructional Support & Training team, Limited duration appointment
TheInstructional Support and Training (IST) team within the Office of InformationTechnology has a need for a visually talented and technology savvy graphicdesigner experienced in web, multimedia, and marketing. The IST team enrichesthe educational experience of students by supporting and assisting the academiccommunity by producing innovative learning resources in support of theirteaching and hosting it on the Web or within a course management system. Thisposition supports the marketing and communication efforts to promote OIT'sservice, though print, web, and social media. This position consults and trainsthe UT community within the areas of web and media.
ISToffers a stimulating work environment, with access to current technologieswithin the intellectually charged atmosphere of a university campus. Inaddition to working within an enthusiastic team of graphic designers, instructionaltechnologists, videographers, and trainers, this job promotes meaningfulsupport and engagement with faculty, staff, and students from across alldisciplines.
Education:Bachelorsin graphic design, computer science or related field or equivalent relatedexperience in web and graphic design. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimumof 3 years experience in web design and graphic design is required.
Createwebsites using HTML, CSS, visual design, and applying principles of usabilityand accessibility.
Supportthe development of web-based content within content management software, e.g., WordPress,and other web formats.
Authorweb and interactive media for instruction.
Designand implement graphic design and multimedia for online and print materials insupport of services and projects.
Developand deliver workshops and training materials in the areas of web design, visualcommunication, digital media, and content management systems.
Manageand maintain medium to large-sized projects with a great degree ofindependence.
Consultwith a diverse clientele of instructors, graduate teaching assistants, andstaff regarding their web presence and web-based instructional materials.
Researchand stay current on new technologies.
