ASRC Federal Analytical Services is currently seeking a part-time Technical Editor at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center to support stakeholders in the Science and Technical Information Program (STI).
Edit all manner of technical products including technical memorandums, technical papers, scientific journal articles, contractor reports, and communication publications
Utilize various style guides, (editing these documents requires knowledge of various types of style guides)
Take part in peer editing and be focused on mastering the STI style guide.
Take an incremental approach to managing long term tasks with multiple steps in the review process and give extreme attention to detail
Provide independent research to support the understanding of related concepts as needed

BS/BA in English, Communication, Grammar, Composition, or related field.
Five (5) years of experience in a related field is required. Graduate work in a related field is preferred. A graduate degree can substitute for 5 years of experience.
Ability to pass a government background investigation is required.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Demonstrated technical editing / grammar skills are required.
Experience with editing scientific journal articles against various style guides.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point is required.
Experience with Adobe InDesign preferred.
Experience with equation editing software is preferred.
