Job Summary: The Associate Creative Director will be responsible for Hana's brand expression across all types of media (i.e. print, digital, motion/video and environmental, etc.) and audiences (i.e. consumers, occupiers (businesses) and developers/owners, etc.). The ideal Associate Creative Director understands the minutiae of brand and design for a variety of audiences. They know how to craft something as simple as a great digital ad or as complex as new brand guidelines and standards. The Associate Creative Director will lead the Hana in-house creative team acting as an agency that supports all facets of the business. The ACD will sit within the Brand and Communications team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Act as the brand steward leading Hana's in-house creative team, adhering to brand architecture and enforcing brand guidelines at every turn.
Develop creative brand strategies that align to business objects and translate them into engaging and meaningful work.
Concept and support team to create world-class design that supports all marketing initiatives & campaigns inclusive of print, digital, motion/video, and environmental. Design includes photography, logos, typography, color, graphic elements, and motion-based solutions.
Collaborate with product and design team to bring the Hana experience to life. This includes both digital materials and Hana elements within the workspaces.
Collaborate with marketing teams on programs to drive new customers, revenue, and add value to the Hana experience.
Present work and build alignment around design direction and execution with key stakeholders.
Understand the importance of aligning the overall campaign narrative into every channel execution & deliverable
Oversee creative budget that ladders to the overall brand & communications budget.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages a growing team of art directors, copywriters and production staff. Oversees all creative budget.
Education and Experience: 7-10+ years of experience at a creative agency and/or in-house creative team, with a visual/design-led background, and strong attention for aesthetics.
Proven experience in concepting designing for global brands in digital, print, and environmental with a track record of delivering robust visual design.
Ability to develop ideas from concept to execution utilizing your vast knowledge of strategic branding, retail environments, paid and owned marketing channels.
Excellent design, typography, and layout skills.
Be creative and bring a fresh perspective while working within the brand and project parameters.
Experience with illustration, and photoshoot direction.
Able to translate a large branding idea to multiple touch points in all channels.
Advanced skills in Adobe programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Understanding of After Effects, Keynote, PPT, HTML5, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication Skills: Solid presentation and writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to upper management and internal departments.
Able to seamlessly build trust across organizations by being a good listener and soliciting input and feedback.
Financial Knowledge: Understands and signs up for success metric, viewing them as a key driver of motivation for a team.
Ability to develop and manage the creative team's budget including a roster of freelancers and outside resources, as needed.
Reasoning Ability: Takes an innovative, entrepreneurial approach to any issues that may arise.
Flexible and thinks outside the box.
Capable of juggling multiple projects within tight deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic.
Other Skills: Relationship builder who is comfortable working with a variety of people and functions– engineering, analytics, customer service, design, operations, executives, functional stakeholders, parent company leaders and others.
