Montage, the single solution to engage, interview and hire better candidates faster is seeking a Level 2 Technical Writer to join our wolfpack. In this role, the Technical Writer will independently plan, develop, and maintain online help and user documentation for Montage products. The Technical Writer will also participate in collaborative research and functional excellence efforts, and help maintain and develop processes that benefit the technical communication function at Montage.
Develop, test and maintain online help and documentation within established schedule and departmental style guidelines
Interact with development teams and other subject matter experts to research, create, review and approve online help and user documentation
Assist with maintenance of department tools, processes, documentation and libraries
Assist with activities required for help center production and document publication
Identify and propose improvements to existing documentation processes and practices
Assist other writers in writing, reviewing, and contributing content as needed
Perform peer reviews to maintain content consistency, accuracy, and adherence to corporate and departmental branding and style guidelines
Assist with testing and validation of documentation deliverables for accuracy, readability, and usability.
If you can answer "yes" to the following then we want you to apply:
Do you have 2 - 5 years of technical writing experience, preferably in a software company?
Do you have a Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or related field?
Do you have strong writing and editing skills?
Do you have experience with help authoring tools? MadCap Flare? (preferred)
Do you have excellent written/verbal communication, listening, organizational, interpersonal, research, investigative, and problem-solving skills?
Do you have knowledge of HTML/XML, CSS, version control systems, and issue tracking systems?
Are you familiar with agile, scrum, lean, and six-sigma? (preferred)
Are you familiar with software build and deploy/release systems? (preferred)
Are you familiar with project tracking and source control tools (Microsoft Visual Studio, JIRA, TFS, etc.)? (preferred)
