The Content Editor/Developer serves as a lead resource in development and enhancement of the various departmental web and intranet sites along with other digital strategies. The primary role of this position is to guide and support academic and administrative department representatives in optimizing their web/intranet presence, and ensure organizational excellence through adherence to University branding, style guides, accessibility, best practices and quality control procedures, thus strengthening and reinforcing SVSU's mission and strategic initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
Develop expertise in the utilization of SVSU's Content Management System (CMS) and SharePoint.
Assist academic and administrative department representatives in optimizing their web/intranet presence with content refinement, organization, and visual display based upon analytics and marketing strategies.
Coordinate graphic design, photography, video production and other design and technical needs with University Communications and/or Information Technology Services (ITS).
Establish and implement site layout and organization, graphics, visuals, navigation and web template designs.
Monitor and evaluate site statistics providing recommendations for site improvement.
Serve as a lead technical trainer for academic and administrative department representatives.
Supervision and training of student employees assigned to team.
Additional on-going responsibilities: * Establish and monitor maintenance calendar * Develop image and photo gallery * Optimize site search for major search engines * Monitor and evaluate web/intranet site statistics
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Professional Technical Writing, Marketing, Journalism, or related field required.
Minimum three-year's experience in content management systems, web design, digital communications, internal communications or equivalent.
Strong writing, organizational, creativity and visual design skills are essential.
Familiarity with web markup, including HTML and CSS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to communicate effectively with key representatives and stakeholders.
Demonstrate strong customer service mindset.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Demonstrate keen attention to detail.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Experience formatting digital media, including photos and graphic design, a plus.
Experience in developing content for the web, social media sites, or other promotional materials.
Knowledge of web-based technologies and design related applications.
Previous experience with SharePoint applications highly desirable.
Master's degree preferred.
