UX Designer, Center for Knowledge Acceleration-2010991
: At Carnegie Mellon University's Center for Knowledge Acceleration , we are building the next generation of the internet: one that captures the trillion hours collectively spent every year trying to make sense of the web and uses it to make people and algorithms ever more intelligent. Get in as a founding member in building a new internet ecosystem that takes over where search leaves off: helping people with complex tasks (e.g., planning trips, buying products, researching symptoms) collect and organize overwhelming information to make better decisions faster and kick-starting a virtuous cycle of knowledge acceleration for others with similar needs.
We are seeking a versatile designer who thrives in a lean, agile environment to drive the design of elegant solutions to complex information consumption problems. You'll work collaboratively in a team with engineers, product managers, and researchers to turn ground breaking science and technologies into intuitive, desirable applications that improve human learning and decision making at scale.
You're nimble and thrive in a feedback cycle measured in hours rather than weeks;
You enjoy collaborating on complex design problems with an interdisciplinary team;
You rapidly iterate on creative designs with feedback from users to build intuitive, easy-to-use products.
