Ball State University is accepting applications for a full-time Creative Strategist.
Position function: Conceptualize, research, create, present, and adjust original artistic concepts and visual designs for the Marketing and Communications Division, supporting Ball State’s marketing and promotional initiatives and contributing to the overall brand and positioning of the institution; assist in developing compelling visual designs while coordinating with photographers, videographers, writers and editors.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in visual communication, graphic design, or related field from an accredited college or university. Three years of related experience working with clients to produce visual design solutions for publications and other communications; thorough knowledge of graphic design principles; expertise in and strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge of graphic design principles, printing processes, and paper and ink characteristics; expertise in Adobe Creative Suite software and excellent communication skills.
Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from an accredited college or university in visual communication, graphic design, or related field. Additional years of professional experience in the field of visual communication, including routine contact with clients, formal presentation of work, press proofing, and art directing photography/videography; experience managing multiple projects, meeting demanding deadlines, and working as part of a team in an agency or higher education setting; knowledge of printing processes and paper and ink characteristics; animation/digital/interactive design experience, including developing motion graphics; familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress.
