The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Advancement Digital and Creative Solutions.
The Director of Advancement Digital and Creative Solutions conceptualizes and implements strategies for the successful development, publication and broadcast of all website, email, print and multimedia projects that seek to digitally connect, solicit, and/or otherwise engage diverse constituencies in support of the Advancement Division and Brown University. The Director is responsible for supervision and oversight of the creative and technical production of website design and development, digital communications, device applications, as well as print and multimedia productions. This includes managing a professional staff of web designers,, videographers, graphic designers and project managers.
The Director is one of the AVP of Advancement Communicationâ™s principal advisors, offering consultation on high-level strategic and operational matters. Leveraging his/her expert knowledge on the University's enterprise systems and resources, the Director serves in a consultative role to advise Advancement units on their respective digital communications and the Divisionâ™s broader communications plans and strategy. Additionally, s/he will serve as the primary liaison to both the technology staff housed in Computing and Information Services (CIS) division, Advancement Information Services (AIS) and with the Universityâ™s Director of Web and Digital Communication Strategy. Moreover, the Director also has an advisory role as part of the Advancement team helping to lead the Universityâ™s Digital Experience Initiative.
Required: Bachelorâ™s Degree and 7-10 years of experience in web communications, design and publications, preferably in a non-profit or higher education setting or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in a fundraising/alumni engagement environment is desirable.
Excellent written and spoken communications skills required.
Demonstrated proficiency and a proven record of success designing multiple fully functional Web sites and using web development tools to create sophisticated features and multi-media content, including dynamic data-driven technology. Strong database skills desirable.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) required, DRUPAL preferred.
Experience with video and audio recording equipment and editing software, such as Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, Windows Media Encoder, QuickTime Pro required.
Experience with graphic design and print projects preferred.
Experience with project management tools and software required.
Must demonstrate proven client relations expertise and aesthetic judgment, have excellent visual design ability, and strong conceptual ability.
