The Hutch Data Commonwealth (HDC) is a transformative initiative at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center that aims to bring innovative big data capabilities to the fingertips of all Hutch investigators. HDC will enhance translational research and enable a new data-driven science by expanding center competencies and collaborations around impactful data-related initiatives. The HDC will serve as a hub for investigators seeking to conduct data-driven projects and will work collaboratively with center scientists to identify and source appropriate datasets, develop tools for accessing and visualizing data, and implement analytic approaches that are reproducible and responsive to scientific objectives.
The Sr. Technical Writer for the Hutch Data Commonwealth will partner with scientific and technical stakeholders to drive the creation of a documentation strategy and methodology with the goal of developing consistent and efficient standards across the organization. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for engineering, systems operations, and end-users. This role will focus on systems which serve as key components of disease research to scientists both internal and external to the Fred Hutch.
The Sr. Technical Writer will own documentation planning, writing/execution, and maintenance of documentation systems, as well as user support documentation efforts. A successful individual for the role will be confident and familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices and procedures, is able to work well both within a team of engineering, scientific, and design orientated individuals, as well as able, to function independently with a wide degree of creativity and initiative.
