Visual UI/UX Designer, Human Computer Interaction Institute (HCII)-2011983
The Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) is a living laboratory where we investigate the relationship between computer technology, human activity and society. Founded in 1993, the HCII is a place where we work to understand and build technology that harmonizes with and improves human capabilities, goals, and social environments through interdisciplinary research and education in design, computer science, and behavioral and social sciences. We research how people work, play, and communicate within groups, organizations, and social structures, then we design, build, and evaluate technologies and tools to support human and social activities.
Join Carnegie Mellon University's Center for Knowledge Acceleration as a founding member in building a new internet ecosystem that takes over where search leaves off. In this role, you will work closely on a team with engineers, product managers, and researchers to craft intuitive, desirable applications that improve human learning and decision-making at scale.
You should demonstrate:
Love for designing complex problems with an interdisciplinary team
Ability to rapidly iterate on creative designs with feedback from users to build intuitive, easy-to-use products
Ability to utilize industry standard design tools to craft user interfaces, customer interactions, and interactive prototypes
Ability to design visuals that are creative but also grounded in the context of existing software behaviors and patterns
