Bioengineering faculty member Dr. Mona Minkara is seeking a full-time Technical Writer Access Assistant (TWAA). The TWAA will assist in revising, planning and coordinating Dr. Minkara's publications to ensure that they are organized and structurally consistent with her broader oeuvre. The main focus of the TWAA is to help Mona's writing process run smoothly so that she can research without hindrance. The TWAA will edit technical writing, proofread all writing, maintain/organize references (ACS style) for publications, format written documents, create presentations/posters and transfer written work to LaTeX
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or a scientific discipline required. Strong writing and organizational capabilities, excellent Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in technical proposal writing strongly desired. Must be flexible, work well in a team, and in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. Must be willing to pitch in as needed in a variety of tasks. An in-depth and perhaps pedantic acquaintance with English grammar and unusual scientific writing styles, specifically ACS styles and other classic styles like APA and Chicago.
