The procedures, programs, and forms (PPF) administrator supports that PPF program in developing and delivering user-centric, compliant PPFs to the laboratory. The PPF program provides Laboratory-wide governance and controls that conform to legal, ethical, and contractual obligations while fostering a work environment that is conducive to NREL’s spirit of innovation. The PPF administrator maintains and consistently reviews and updates the Laboratory’s PPFs in coordination with the PPF owners, stewards, and subject matter experts (SMEs). Additionally, the PPF administrator supports the broader efforts of the Performance Assurance team to implement continuous improvement efforts that align with formal requirements.
Support the development and maintenance of PPFs to include the development, review, comment resolution, approval, and posting processes for PPFs, quick starts, FAQs, roles and responsibilities, reference documents, requirements documentation, training requirements, and revision history.
Foster sound technical and procedure writing practices and incorporate these standards into PPF work products.
Apply tools and processes to manage and track PPFs and requirements.
Participate in projects to enhance and improve the PPF system, including but not limited to website redesigns, enhanced databases, and streamlining PPF documentation.
Liaise with stakeholders across the Laboratory to inform and communicate PPF objectives and support continuous improvement of programmatic activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, communication, or equivalent degree or experience
Technical writing expertise
Intense attention to detail
Demonstrated experience in managing, administering, and developing PPFs, document control, and/or project management
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines
Strong balance of process orientation and flexibility in accommodating multiple perspectives, levels of interest, and ambiguity towards successful outcomes
Strong communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office
Master’s degree in technical writing, communication, or equivalent
Experience supporting management systems at a DOE national laboratory or federally funded research facility
Experience with implementing change management
Proficiency with database and content management solutions with specific experience working in Drupal and Oracle Apex systems
Professional experience and proficiency in facilitation
Knowledge of Associated Press Stylebook or Chicago Manual of Style
