Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Creative and Special Projects, the UX Web Designer will be the full-stack designer within the Office of External Affairs, which includes the following components of web design: â¢ UX Design: including research & wireframing â¢ UI Design: including visual design â¢ Interaction Design: engaging web interface design â¢ Front End Development: including HTML/CSS and user interface animation
This role will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and project management for all websites and related properties within the department with an extensive knowledge of CMS, WordPress preferred. Leveraging best practices for UX design, this position will lead the integration of all digital channels into the new and existing websites. This individual must be capable of performing analysis, design, planning, prototyping, implementing, testing, maintenance and support tasks with minimal supervision. This position requires interaction with other business partners and external departments, and as such, requires excellent communication skills. This position requires the ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with others to implement solutions.
Translate programmatic, technical, and design requirements to ensure deliverables meet fully-functional specifications and features for external users by developing well-designed, testable, and efficient websites and landing pages using existing in-house web tools/systems, and HTML/CSS with an emphasis on workflow and solutions to improve usability.
Serve as project manager and assist with technical problems and questions for all web-based projects with continued optimization of relevant features, such as updating website content, implementing an SEO methodology, improving user experience, utilize proper tracking methods within Google Analytics, produce standardized reports, and make modifications to themes and plug-ins.
Collaborate with business partners to develop custom site architecture, which includes sitemaps, user flow development, customer journeys, wireframe development, mockups, prototypes, and visual site map designs for proper of alignment of Wharton brands and associated digital properties.
Test and troubleshoot code and contentâ”including APIs, format, text, graphics, photos, and videoâ”for issues, quality assurance, and performance optimization on all web pages to ensure that technology changes and updates retain functionality for active websites on multiple browsers, mobile, desktop, etc. â¢ Manage the full scope of work with business partners by clearly and thoroughly communicating solutions, project deliverables and projects status.
