The College of Arts & Sciences – Marketing and Communications, has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of Web Services The Arts & Sciences Web Team creates, manages, and maintains websites on behalf of the College of Arts & Sciences. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a liberal arts education in a research university, giving students rich opportunities to explore our cultural and natural worlds. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a small team of developers and designers to support the Arts, Humanities, Natural and Social Sciences at the UW. As part of our team, the Assistant Director builds and improves websites, manages projects, provides support and educates site editors. The candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively to produce sites that reflect the amazing research, scholarship, creativity, and student experiences that occur within the College of Arts & Sciences. The Assistant Director must be comfortable guiding teams through website builds, and must exhibit an appreciation and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds The candidate should also have interests in usability\UX, and a commitment to providing excellent services to clients. They should have experience working in an agile, multi-task, and multiple website setting. Experience working with the Drupal content management system, and developing solutions using HTML, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, XML and JSON is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as you will work with developers, designers, editors, producers, marketing managers, and faculty from across the College. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and two or three years of progressively responsible web developer and/or lead programmer experience in an IT environment. This should include a minimum of two years of experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and JSON on a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). Demonstrated experience in: Additionally, you should have; Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
