Position Summary: AVDG is looking for a stellar Residential Design Engineer responsible for providing pre-sales support engaging as a technical influencer and consultant to our sales team, seamlessly producing functional AV or smart home systems descriptions, block flow diagrams, and equipment lists to enable the generation of client proposals based on specifications made by clients, account representatives, and the AVDG engineering team. Participates in the field to ensure the completed system is optimized for video, audio, control, and is properly integrated into the facility by performing the following duties.Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:•Ability to translate customer requirements into functional system designs•Provide assistance with technical design and level of effort needed by estimating hours and highlighting logistical challenges for the sales team to consider while pricing the opportunity and assisting to build accurate quotes •Generate functional system descriptions and block diagrams, design wall plates and overlays •Identify all cabling, and miscellaneous material needs•Assist Account Manager with labor and material estimates for projects •Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculation, acoustical modeling or other data as required•Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate product as requested •Provide on-going engineering support as neededTo join our band you'll need the following experience:•Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least three years of experience in an equivalent combination of education and experience•Minimum 3 – 5 years residential audio-visual or smart home integration industry experience required•Must has solid understanding of residential products and design capabilities•Strong proficiency in MS Excel required, CAD and Visio highly desired•Strong problem-solving skills. customer service, professionalism, adaptability, and flexibility mandatory•Strong analytical, project management, organizational, interpersonal communication initiative, and collaboration skills are essentialAbout AVDG:Founded in 1996, Audio Visual Design Group (AVDG) is a leading design-build firm specializing in audio- visual systems for commercial and residential spaces worldwide.
