Managing Director of the Consortium on Trust in Media and Technology
The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, one of the premier communication programs in the country, is seeking an innovative and transformational leader for the Managing Director of the Consortium on Trust in Media and Technology (CTMT), a multidisciplinary initiative launched to understand the dynamics that have undermined the trustworthiness of content and information disseminated via technology. The Consortium is one of eight “moonshot” projects launched by the University of Florida aimed at solving some of society’s most urgent problems.

The Managing Director will be responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of CTMT, including facilitating research and operational collaborations, both on and off campus; building capacity and sustainability through fund-raising in both the private and governmental sectors; developing grants and fellowship programs and recruiting participants; and developing an infrastructure to support Consortium scholars. The Managing Director will also work with UF faculty to connect the work of CTMT with curriculum and recruit graduate and undergraduate student involvement in the Consortium. This position reports to the Dean and will supervise administrative and student support.
The Managing Director will establish a Board of Consultants comprised of academics and professionals to advise CTMT on research opportunities, act as ambassadors for the Consortium, and serve as a sounding board on strategic direction and focus. The Managing Director also will work with the Center for Public Interest Communications to devise the most effective, public-facing communications strategy.

Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.
Leadership experience in building collaborative teams and partnerships in an academic or non-profit environment is a must.
Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline or 15 years of industry experience.
Experience in areas related to trust, media or technology.
Experience in fundraising from both public and private funders.
