Technical Writer, Center for Agriculture & Food Security &Preparedness
This position is located in the Center for Agriculture andFood Security and Preparedness (CAFSP) in the College of Veterinary Medicine.CAFSP is grant funded by various federal agencies and organizations. Thisgrant-funded position will work with Subject Matter Experts to plan, develop,write, and edit content used for classroom and online training courses and willresearch and prepare other written documents such as journal articles or otherpublications.This position will alsoassist the Center's Director developing of grant proposals.
Write and edit training content, activities, and testquestions that adhere to adult learning principles.The editing and revision process sometimesinvolves topical research.
Build, write, edit, and submit grant proposals andapplications in accordance with funding agency requirements. Collaborate withinternal and external stakeholders to develop grant applications.
Develop PowerPoint slides, videos, and flyers for e-learningcourses and instructor led courses (in-person and virtual).Identify images and create graphics to alignwith the training topics.
Research and develop other written documents such as journalarticles or other publications.
Knowledge, Skills,and Abilities Needed:
*Highly proficient in technical writing,communication, and presentation skills
*Ability to develop, implement, edit, andmaintain both instructor-led and web based training content and activities
*Ability to interpret complex written materialand problem solve, develop and write proposals, as needed.
*Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, andexternal stakeholders to develop grant proposals
*Ability to work as part of a team
*Ability to meet quality expectations anddeadlines
*Ability to work proficiently in Microsoftprograms
*Ability to work independently, given theCOVID-19 restrictions
*Ability to travel domestically for overnightmeetings and training deliveries, valid driver's license required
*Prefer knowledge of content sharing technology(Share Point)
*Prefer knowledge of Section 508 accessibilityrequirements
