USC Human Resources is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support the Talent & Organizational Development team.Â This position will contribute to building and delivering engaging learning experiences that will help shape USC HRâs development programs. Using blended and innovative learning techniques, the person best suited for this role will possess strong design and project management skills, communication skills and comes with a slate of management and leadership development design expertise and knowledge.Â
Please note, this is a one year, fixed-term position with the possibility to extend to a permanent position.
Experience identifying needs, prioritizing and gaining agreement on design plan to achieve goals
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop partnerships with subject matter experts, various stakeholders, and leverage existing materials to understand real-world experiences to design against
Able to design content across the full range of L&D programs including new hire onboarding, management and leadership development and key organizational capabilities and tools
Proven ability to create consistent, effective, scalable, interactive and engaging learning and development content and experiences across the full customer journey that enhances transfer across business areas
Demonstrated possession of a strong visual aesthetic in designing content, materials & multi-media (slide decks, audio, video, simulations, role plays, facilitator guides, job aids, games, etc)
Must have advanced level knowledge of adult learning principles and theories
Nice to haves:
MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or related
Experience facilitating professional, management and leadership development courses
BS degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar
Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and L&D current trends, preferably with knowledge workers and in academia.
Ability to extract knowledge from Subject Matters Experts and design for ease of learning
Proven skills in best instructional design and learning methods (self directed, online, blended, in person)
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, storyboard, audio scripts/video scripts, and use visual design skills
Project management experience with proven ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive and competing priorities simultaneously to drive projects to completion without significant supervision
Proactive individual with strong execution and service orientation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience using Adobe Captivate or similar technology
Collaborative, team player with a strong focus on delivering to have an impact
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degreeMinimum Experience: 2 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: Directly related experience in curriculum development, instructional design courses and/or on-line teaching in a university or corporate environment. Demonstrated interpersonal, critical thinking and communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
