Manager, Strategic Projects and Initiatives for the Office of the Chief Operating Officer
The Office of the COO (OCOO) supports the US firms' COO and CFO with day-to-day operational activities and drives select strategic projects and initiatives that represent top priorities for the COO and CFO. Our team consists of practitioners with backgrounds in strategy and operations business consulting, as well as business project management and executive governance/support.
Our Strategic Projects and Initiatives team is looking for a Manager to lead high-visibility operational initiatives. In this role, you will develop project/initiative vision and approach, manage diverse stakeholders, prepare executive-level presentations, and coordinate/facilitate leadership meetings.
Work you'll do:
Apply strategic and hypothesis-based thinking to frame questions into actionable analyses and approaches to deliver insights and solutions.
Build compelling stories and presentations, with details, logic, and content tailored to the appropriate audience.
Story-tell with creative visual designs and data.
Collaborate with and influence a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders.
Design, manage and optimize operational processes, reporting tools, and deliverables.
Excellent communications skills (both oral and written) - role requires the ability to communicate clearly and influence various senior-level stakeholders and leaders.
Have a proactive work ethic ("self-starter") that also embraces a collaborative ("team player") approach to project work.
High-level of intellectual curiosity and flexibility, with demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage and collaborate with team members across various locations in a virtual work environment.
Able to work well under pressure and act in utmost confidentiality with sensitive leadership information.
Comfort with ambiguity as our priorities / project scope may change depending on leadership priorities.
High degree of self-confidence, executive presence, poise, maturity, discretion, judgment, and empathy.
Advanced MS Power Point and Excel skills; proficiency with the other MS Office applications.
Experience building complex financial models (e.g., business cases, Excel macros, etc.); knowledge of Tableau is preferred but not required.
Bachelor's degree, with preference for a business-related (e.g., Finance, Economics) or a technical discipline. A Master's degree / MBA is preferred.
5+ years of prior relevant experience in client-facing or internal consulting roles.
All candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed for their clients, however, depending on staffing needs, most positions are in-office-based with limited travel required. While limited travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.
