Joining an energetic Technical Communications team, with skills in technical writing, hardware and software engineering, multimedia development, and instructional design
Developing and updating internal and end-user content including manuals, package inserts, quick guides, multimedia, etc. for use and support of Luminex products with a focus on Field Service
Collaborating with Technical Product Management and other Luminex teams to write technical product content that simplifies complex concepts, presents information attractively, and maximizes user comprehension and information retention
What you will do
Create technical and instructional content, for delivery in various methods (electronic, print, or in the classroom)
Engage with SMEs to gather product knowledge for efficient development—attend knowledge transfers, and participate in hands-on training. Continually strive to increase knowledge of Luminex technologies and products
Ensure materials are understandable and functional for the intended audience and aligned with Luminex’s corporate strategy and brand, SOPs, and Technical Communications’ style guides
Manage multiple priorities with the ability to assess and adjust quickly to the changing scope of the business
Align Field Service documentation with Luminex brand, standards, and writing style including but not limited to Field Service Manuals, Technical Service Bulletins, and Field Service Advisories

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing or related field required
2+ Years in Technical Writing or related field preferred
2+ Years experience in hardware and software engineering or related field preferred
Training and Skills
Strong knowledge of authoring tools, like Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat Pro, MadCap Flare, Perforce, SnagIt, Microsoft Office, or similar products (High proficiency)
Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent spelling and grammar, understanding standard revision process, and technical documentation conventions (High proficiency)
Working knowledge of layout/design software like InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar is a plus (Low proficiency)
Standard Working Conditions
Must work onsite at Luminex Austin office - Frequently
Ability to handle pressure of meeting tight deadlines - Frequently
Frequent work as a team member, and in direct contact with others - Frequently
Work is normally performed in a typical office environment and in direct content with others - Frequently
Possible exposure to mechanical, biological, or chemical hazards - Occasionally
5% Domestic travel may be required.
