Clearance Requirements: None / able to obtain a security clearance
Our Technical Writing and Training Team supports Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) projects to compose technical manuals, safety assessments, and training for high-priority safety tools and functions. They work with teams of subject matter experts to ensure technical concepts are clearly and correctly expressed. The team establishes technical knowledge of the subject matter, and builds ongoing relationships with the FAA customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with technical subject matter experts (such as engineers, analysts, pilots, system support specialists, and air traffic controllers) to enhance training materials
Create, proofread, edit, format, and distribute documentation including: user manuals, job aids, processes, and briefings
Perform technical training development and instruction
Deliver remote live training with students and versed in hosting ZOOM or Skype sessions and phone bridges.
Establish an interactive approach to delivering the training with emphasis on content, approach, continuous feedback to engage and motivate students as much as possible.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
2+ years' relevant experience in technical writing or proofreading
Prior experience developing and delivering technical instructional content
Ability to pass a security background investigation
Experience working with the FAA
Experience developing graphics and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with the training design process using a Systems Approach To Training documented in FAA Standard 028C
Project management skills using approaches such as Agile, Design Thinking, and ADDIE
