We are seeking a Programmer Analyst II to join our rapidly growing team.
As a Programmer Analyst II, you will support the design, coding, and installation of all of our software applications. You will join a team of knowledgeable, dedicated professionals who are intent on making University technology cutting-edge and effective. You will help us as we develop and test new programs that meet the changing needs of our business units. First and foremost, our team is here to ensure that our business units can operate successfully, and we take pride in providing exceptional customer service and state-of-the-art applications to help them do so.
Interact with users to determine their software application objectives, scope, and requirements.
Produce the required analysis and application design, either individually or by actively participating in development process. Produce design specification documents.
Translate design specifications into programming languages.
Develop test data and routines required to test and revise application(s). Ensure application(s) is thoroughly tested before release. Write reports of test results.
Detect, define, and debug programs whenever problems are reported or encountered.
Prepare developer and end-user documentation for other programmers and users in accordance with internal and external standards.
Train users and programmers as required.
Work independently or in a collaborative team environment on complex deployment management and/or programming activities.
Coordinate multiple projects and adjust to changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
Core business hours are Monday through Friday at the USC UPC campus. Production support responsibilities on weekends, evenings, and/or holidays. Availability to handle after-hours or on-call duties as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Must have a Bachelorâs degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Strong customer service skills including written and verbal communication.
Demonstrated strong personal mastery, including ethics, interpersonal skills, and dedication to continuous learning.
2 years relevant experience with the following specific programming languages and skills:
Familiarity with React, Vue, or other JS frameworks
Familiarity with Laravel or other PHP frameworks
Excellent understanding of accessibility WCAG 2.0, usability, and visual design principles
Experience with Git source control and command line build tools, including npm, gulp and node.js
Experience with Mobile App Development
Experience with Object Oriented Programming
Experience consuming RESTful web services
Experience writing custom WordPress plugins using WordPress APIâs
Experience converting design files into custom WordPress themes
Experience with WordPress, WP Query, hooks, and filters
Experience with Media Queries/Responsive Web Development
Experience with CSS
Experience with programming methods and program flow charts.
Excellent SQL/MySQL knowledge
Knowledge of programming and documentation procedures and operator instructions.

Experience with the higher Ed environmentÂ
3 or more years of experience in programming
LESS or SASS experience preferred
