This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Technical Communications team, using your skills to develop IFUs (and some online content) for a variety of complex medical devices, collaborating with Design Engineers, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Clinical Affairs and other Subject Matter experts to provide accurate information that is compliant with FDA, MDR, and as appropriate, additional requirements.

What You Will Do-
You will develop, write, edit and revise product Instructions For Use (IFUs) that provide instructions and information detailing user/patient safety, product features, procedures for handling, maintenance, etc.
Actively participates in new product development meetings to provide insights on best quality outcomes for instructional material strategies and resolve related challenges
Organizes IFU content and completes writing assignments according to established guidelines for order, content, clarity, conciseness, format, style and terminology
Conceptualizes graphical elements (tables, charts, illustrations, etc.) that support instructional information
Collaborates with label/marking designers in functional area to align label/marking and IFU content
Utilizes change management system for IFU releases/updates
Attends product usability studies to observe operating procedures. May provide inputs for product design improvements, simplification of graphical user interface, and feature markings
May conduct usability testing on IFUs to increase usability of instructional information
Helps establish standardized text, glossaries and nomenclature, style guide and templates, and structure of instructional information
As needed, communicates with service suppliers (printing services, translation agency) for functionally related services
Participates in the research, evaluation, and implementation of applications in technical communications field; provides justification and recommendations for future capabilities
Submits periodic reports on assigned projects to supervisor and or project managers
Initiates and/or support continuous improvement endeavors within functional area
Assists with internal and external audits to support functional area
What You Need:
Bachelor's degree is required (within engineering, business, technical writing, or a related discipline with an emphasis on communication skills, preferred)
4+ years of experience required (within medical device, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment, preferred)
Knowledge of a variety of writing formats, including print, web and multimedia is strongly desired
Knowledge of FrameMaker is strongly desired
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office tools, and Windchill, preferred
Working knowledge of FDA and MDR labeling requirements, preferred
Knowledge of printing and graphic reproduction practices, preferred
Knowledge of XML authoring tools (like AuthorIt, Arbortext, Adobe AEM), and XML publishing using CSS, preferred
