Financial Management Services
Financial Management Services (FMS) is part of the Stanford University Business Affairs organization, whose vision is to work together to make administration seamless and efficient to enable and support teaching, learning and research. Specifically, this position will reside within the FMS Marketing and Communications team, a part of the Organizational Effectiveness department.
About the Role
This is a specialist role with a variety of exciting responsibilities that are key to the success of the team and organization. With oversight from the Manager of Marketing and Communications, this role serves as the lead marketing and communication resource for Business Affairs and FMS initiatives, as well as for FMS programs, services and business lines.
The role will support internal clients, defined by business area. Client support includes creating and deploying operational newsletters, announcements, content updates and marketing and communications deliverables. In addition, the role will also support business areas with change management, communications and web content strategies related to projects such as system enhancements, changes to financial processes or policies, or new features and tools developed to support financial excellence at the university. This role will primarily support business areas related to purchasing, contracts and vendor management, which are critical activities within the procurement function.
The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of communication and marketing principles, best practices, software and tools, such as PowerPoint, email marketing software, creative suites and content management systems such as Drupal. The candidate will also benefit from foundational knowledge about project management, change management and best practices with web content strategies. Experience and a passion for partnering with subject matter experts to write clear process and policy content in a complex and compliance-driven environment will be greatly beneficial.

Create and support strategic communication plans for projects, initiatives and operational programs and services under minimal supervision of the Manager of Marketing and Communications.
Plan, draft, edit, and deploy select marketing communications for a variety of channels (i.e., web, print, email, online, virtual and in-person events).
Monitor, track and report marketing program effectiveness, and review and report campaign data.
Serve as a strategic change management and project partner on cross-functional teams.
Monitor, curate and continuously improve web content and marketing collateral.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience in product, system, program and/or services marketing.
Ability to support cross-functional groups toward a common goal.
Ability to identify and solve basic visual design and communication problems.
Demonstrated understanding of job-required software applications and mediums.
Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
Experience presenting to and collaborating with senior management.
Seven or more years of experience
Experience communicating about financial processes, systems or services.
Previous experience on a project team responsible for deploying a high impact change.
