Rawson Saunders School in Austin, Texas, seeks an organized, dependable, creative, highly skilled Communications Coordinator (or Director if experience applies) to join our team. The Communications Coordinator/Director will be responsible for managing and creating content for a wide array of school communications and communication platforms including the community newsletter, parent and faculty/staff portals, website, social media, and marketing/promotional materials. The Communications Coordinator/Director will work closely with all departments to synthesize needs and goals and to deliver streamlined and compelling content that is informative, engaging, on-brand, and on mission. The Communications Coordinator/Director reports directly to the Head of School.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weekly newsletter and all community email communications, including letters from the Head of School.
Manage the internal Blackbaud portals for parents and faculty/staff as well as the public Finalsite website to ensure all content is up to date and create new content as needed.
Manage and operate the school text notification platform.
Develop and manage advertising and marketing initiatives.
Develop and manage the school’s social media platforms including posting engaging content regularly.
Work closely with the Head of School and Development Director on all fundraising, marketing, and promotional efforts.
Manage the Rawson Saunders parent groups and guide their communications.
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA in Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred.
A minimum of two years of experience working in a marketing or communications position, preferably in education. Title and salary will align with experience.
Must have impeccable written and oral communications skills. Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and creatively is required.
Proficiency with communications technologies including internal and external website management and analytics as well as social media expertise.
Superior time-management and organizational skills.
Visual design skills and Adobe Suite knowledge is a plus.
