About The Role Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 Role Type: Permanent, Full-time
As the Associate Director of User Experience and User Interface Design you will lead the achievement of the Wholesale Digital Design business strategy by providing exceptional User Experience and User Interface Design expertise, design management and delivery of digital design solutions to our global customer base across our omni-channel and host to host platforms. The role will be responsible for leading and representing the UX /UI division within the Wholesale Digital Design team part of Customer Partnerships in Wholesale Digital. Leveraging experience in HCD and lean design methodologies to meet current and future Wholesale Digital strategies to ensure that the designs are executed effectively to meet customer and business needs. You will have had experience across the end-to-end design process and understand the design process from strategy through to implementation and design ops. This role is for someone that has extensive experience of design across a variety of organisational structures and can comfortably work within complexity and ambiguity, collaborating with technology and asset owners to ensure a smooth and timely implementation of solutions.
Other responsibilities include:
Reporting directly to the Director of Wholesale Digital Design.
User Experience and User Interface Design team leadership and management. You will work hand in hand with the Associate Director of Strategy and Service Design to ensure the seamless delivery of design initiatives.
Efficient delivery of design at high quality and on time for implementation, in which effective experience impact and value is measured.
Scoping and building design approaches to ensure that lean, iterative and HCD methods are embedded in the way of working, bringing the voice of the customer to the forefront.
End-to-end design experience and understanding how to transition design strategies into digital experiences and solutions through define and detailed design phases into product teams for implementation.
Evaluative design research methods to identify and solve problems and identify opportunities to enhance the user experience.
Ensure collaboration with technology teams for seamless implementation across web, mobile (responsive), and host-to-host platforms.
Stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration throughout WD and Institutional.
Ensuring the quality and capability of a team of designers working on multiple projects simultaneously. Effectively managing, coaching, and mentoring a team to be high functioning and high performing in UX, UI and Visual Design.
Ownership of UX and UI design tools and artefacts for efficient design workflow.
Active education and direct support to embed broader HCD and design skills across Wholesale Digital and Institutional stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Extensive experience in UX and UI as a specialisation, with knowledge of all aspects of the design process including strategy and service design . (10 years)
Exceptional detail to design aesthetics and craft.
2-3 years??? experience in a leadership management role (in additional to project lead roles).
Experience collaborating with tech teams for implementation and delivery. Understanding of HCD, lean and agile design methods.
Happy to get ???on the tools??? when required
Previous experience working in complex and large-scale organisations.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
Highly skilled and experienced in Design with a specialisation in UX and UI Design including direct experience with design execution and delivery and the end-to-end design service offering (including design delivery- Strategy and Service Design).
Has experience with design research through the various phases of design and highly skilled with HCD, lean and agile design methods.
A design lead that has experience across multiple business and organisational structures and internal operating models.
Strong business acumen. Relevant Bachelor???s Degree in Design (masters is a bonus).
Demonstrated leadership ability, energising staff to engage and support change through partnering and collaborative working with focus on customer and business value and benefits delivery. Role models ANZ values.
Experience leading design projects and project teams through the end-to-end design phases utilising service design methods and iterative design to achieve project outcomes.
Has experience in agile teams of mixed discipline and can appropriately project manage
Project management skills and leading design-led projects as well as working in multi-disciplinary teams.
