UNC Creative, the award-winning in-house design agency for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking a manager to lead the team. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Resources, the Manager of UNC Creative is responsible for managing the staff and the various services that UNC Creative provides to the University, including creative strategy, visual design, digital design, digital publications, branding and identity. The Manager will market the team's services and expand or adjust the offerings as necessary to ensure their work is meeting the needs of campus. The Manager will provide creative strategic counsel to University schools and units and oversee the production of materials and assets that meet messaging goals. Up-to-date graphic design expertise and understanding of modern visual style and aesthetics is essential. This is a great opportunity for someone who believes in the importance of professional design for communications and the power of a strong brand, and will lead the team in these areas.

UNC Creative has several digital offerings and marketing endeavors, including websites and an e-newsletter, and this position and must have strong digital expertise to support and maintain these efforts. Knowledge of best practices, issues and trends in website design and development, as well as the ability to stay current with web technology and design is essential.

The Manager has overall fiscal responsibility for the receipt-supported budget, including authority to determine how to expend the funds. The Manager must ensure the budget is balanced and the department reserves are steady.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
