The University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment is a nationally recognized interdisciplinary institution that works to advance sustainability through collaborative research, leadership and education programming, and public-interest storytelling and communications. This fall, we’re adding a digital & multimedia manager to our staff.
We’re looking for a creative, technology-savvy person who enjoys managing digital platforms and channels (web, email) – and making things for them.
You’ll be a critical player in an upcoming redesign, helping shape a Drupal site you’ll govern and help grow.
You’ll establish best practices for email, building strong lists, designing and producing campaigns, and coordinating with colleagues who also use mass email in their work.
You’ll produce digital and multimedia content, with an initial emphasis on video, audio, and photography, with space to bring and grow other skills.
Last, and certainly not least, you’ll lead digital analytics, sharing your insights on how to strengthen our platforms and content.
Reporting to the director of communications, this role requires collaboration, so an orientation toward teamwork and relationships will benefit you, along with confidence in your counsel. Because we are a university-based institute, enthusiasm for data, evaluation, and continuous learning will be well received too. IonE is also committed to DEIJ (diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice) and antiracism in its mission and operations, and we will consider applicants’ intercultural competencies; experience in identifying and dismantling systemic inequities; and ability to integrate DEIJ concepts in the work of communications.
The starting range for this position is $55–60K, and it is eligible for UMN civil service employee group benefits. You’ll be based in St. Paul, MN, and eligible to work remotely up to 50% time or more, in accordance with our flexible work guidelines. Read more about benefits below, along with how to apply. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who belong to groups that have been historically underrepresented in environmental work and in academia, including those who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color, those with disabilities, and those from LGBTQIA+ communities.
