ACORD Solutions Group Information Technology Intern students gain real-world work experience in their academic field. During the summer months, interns will engage in challenging projects evolving around the state-of-the art solutions in the insurance industry. Interns will be paired with Technical Lead mentors and will be given opportunities to stretch their skills and enrich their knowledge base to achieve a greater understanding within Technology.
Interns will participate in activities to enhance connection to the company as a whole and encourage personal growth. Some of these activities include:
· Formal onboarding event for all students to ensure integration to the organization and program
· A one-on-one mentorship with a leader for the duration of the program
What we are looking for:
The UI Developer Intern will serve as the communicator to the server-side team and developers collaborating to identify integration points and dependencies. Students should have experience and education in:
· Javascript, Angular, JQuery, HTML, CSS.
· SQL & NO-SQL Databases, Querying languages.
· Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and their libraries.
· Knowledge of Microservice architecture is a plus.
· Visual design programs such as Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
· High level of knowledge of UI principles and patterns.
· Emerging topics in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, knowledge representation and reasoning.
· Energetic self-starter with willingness to work hard.
As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to take an online assessment.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Work with IT to help design and implement tools and services needed to support the business.
Test, debug and troubleshoot coding to ensure that code is deployable and functional.
Reduce bugs in our production environment.
Deliver high-quality systems and meet project deadlines.
Maintain and improve our existing programs.
Gather, organize and manage information/requirements from users and various levels of management.
Ability to quickly learn and work on new technologies and implement POC.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science of Information Systems or related field.
GPA of 3.0 or above.
Proficiency in Java, J2EE technology stack.
Basic understanding of BigData technologies like Hadoop HDFS, MapReducec, PIG, Hive, etc.
Basic understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Modeling and Reporting.
Available to participate in the intern program from May 22, 2023 to August 11, 2023.
